| Protective Clothing
P84 Polyimides are known for their high thermal resistance characterised by a glass transition temperature of 315°C as well as their non melting properties.
The flame retardant properties of P84 are classified by the LOI (Limiting Oxygen Index) of 38 % O2. P84 materials are particularly friendly to the skin due to their soft and textile grip.
Spundyed fibres with excellent light-fastness values and high UV stability makes them an excellent choice for protective fabrics, knitwear and lining systems
Lining Systems
The “P84 Liner” is especially designed to comply with the requirements and regulations of EN469 as a lining of fire fighter jackets
Fabric: 35 % P84/65 % Viscose FR, 110 g/m2, navyblue
Felt: 100 % P84, 195 g/m2
The combination of the fabric and the felt, quilted together, guarantees optimum protection against heat and flames. The two-layer system can be used with all common membranes as well as with all flame-retardant outershell fabrics.
The smooth fabric allows ideal freedom of movement which makes the jacket easy to put on and out quickly without any unpleasant sticking to the underlying garments.
P84 Fabrics
P84 fibres are mainly used in fabric blends with major objective on best possible protection and wear comfort. Main blending partners are Viscose FR and
p-aramides.
Fabric weights from 175 g/m2 up to 325 g/m2, different blend ratios and different structures can be adapted exactly to each specific application. The fabrics are used as outer shell for suits and jackets with fire brigades, army and industry. Tests confirm no afterglowing and afterburning as well as minimum smoke and toxic substance formation and emission.
P84 and p-aramid blend turnouts offer superior fire protection, strength, durability and provide greater mobility. NFPA tests have shown that fabric maintains its strength and flexibility even after flashover.

Knitwear
Optimum protection and excellent wear comfort are achieved with knitted blends of P84 Polyimide and Viscose FR. High breathability and friendlyness to the skin ideally complement the requirements of protective clothing directly worn to the skin, like protective hoods, shirts or underwear. Compared to other FR-treated products the outstanding properties of P84/Viscose FR blends remain
completely intact even after multiple washings.
The products have all been tested in accordance to NFPA, ASTM, and EN.
